MBABANE– The festive has started and it is advisable to drink your beverages responsibly and safely.

December is a time to unwind and celebrate the wins of the year while of fun, family and enjoyment for some people and Eswatini Beverages has shared some tips on how to enjoy beverages safely during the festive season.

During an interview with Eswatini Beverages Communications Officer Thandwayinkosi Dlamini, she said that as an establishment it was important to have a positive experience when enjoying beverages.

“It is very important to have a positive experience when enjoying beverages. First of all we always encourage emaSwati never to drink and drive whenever indulging in alcoholic beverages and have or make arrangements for a taxi to take them home.

“We also advise to have a meal before and as you drink as this slows down the rate of getting drunk quickly or blacking out and also drink water in between drinks,” said Dlamini.
Dlamini further mentioned it was important not to drink to excess as that made issues more prone in society.

“Gender Based Violence is exasperated when people drink to excess as well as the spread of HIV\ AIDS virus. This is why we encourage people not to drink to excess and stay within limit even in terms,” said Dlamini.

Dlamini further mentioned that people who collected bottles would be paid for each.
“We are conscious about the environment and we have increased the price of returning empty bottles to E1.50 per bottle nationwide. We advise emaSwati to collect and return empty bottles and keep the environment clean,” said Dlamini.
