MBABANE – The Eswatini Dance Sport Association (EDANSA) has joined hands with SHARP Eswatini to host the ‘Winter Challenge’ national dance competition.
St. Theresa High School Hall is set to host this event scheduled for May 25 at 10am. The event is expected to feature dancers from different schools and clubs in Eswatini, as per EDANSA President Sammy Msibi.
“In a partnership with SHARP Eswatini, we will be hosting the ‘Winter Challenge’ dance competition at St. Theresa High School Hall. We are expecting dancer from different schools and dance clubs to partake in this competition,” Msibi said.
He also highlighted that those competitors stand a chance to be selected by EDANSA to represent the country in the upcoming Confederation of Southern African DanceSport Union (COSADU) competition.
“This competition is a build up to the Confederation of Southern African DanceSport Union (COSADU) competition set to take place soon. The dates and venues of this competition are yet to be announced by the COSADU,” he added.
The EDANSA is the mother body for dance sports in Eswatini that focuses mainly on ballroom dance, Latin American dance, freestyle hip hop and pantsula dance. COSADU is the governing body for dance sport and related dance styles in Southern African region. It is a full member of the world governing body World Dance Sport Federation.
