MBABANE – EEC is on the roll with regards to humanitarian projects.
The Eswatini Electricity Company (EEC) has yet again ventured into another Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project and is in the process of constructing a new Home Economics laboratory for Luhhumaneni Primary School located in the Hhohho Region. This school caters to over 400 pupils.
This was according to a statement released by the electricity company on their social media platform (Facebook). This project was done in partnership with the Mozambique Transmissions Company (MOTRACO) and amounted to about E820 000.
During an interview with Khaya Mavuso, the EEC Marketing and Communications Manager, he mentioned that the construction of the laboratory began early this year.
“Like any other organisation or institution, the Luhhumaneni Primary School submitted a proposal to EEC which was assessed through the existing EEC structures and approved under the EEC Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme,” said Mavuso.
The marketing and communications manager stated that a formal handover would be done to mark the completion of the school’s laboratory.
“A formal event will be done to officially hand-over the school’s laboratory, otherwise for now this was a board appreciation tour of the funds that have been put into the project,” said Mavuso.
