EFA TO HIRE NEW SIHLANGU COACH

MBABANE – The Eswatini Football Association (EFA) is on the process of hiring a new national team, Sihlangu, coach to take over from Dominic Kunene who is currently out of contract.

This comes after the football mother body released the vacancy for the national team. Interested candidates can apply for the post, following the release of the vacancy and the deadline for applying is May 31.

Interested candidates must be in possession of a minimum CAF A Coaching Licence or a Pro-Coaching Licence, if coming or trained outside the Confederation of African (CAF) territory or better.

“Experience in club and national team football, with at least 10 years experience in each of the two, is a must have. Have a developed coaching philosophy of elitism and industriousness. High degree of interpersonal skills and ethical codes behaviour, good personality traits including high levels of emotional intelligence,” reads the coaching advert.

The interested candidate must also have football contextual knowledge, ability to identify, monitor and evaluate information about players and their social strata. The candidate must also have international football knowledge, including international contemporary football trends and qualification to AFCON finals is an added advantage.

The vacancy is open to all coaches including locals and international coaches. They must send their application with detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) and copies of Diploma/ Certificate to the EFA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Frederick Mngomezulu at Sigwaca House or email info@nfas.org.sz.

Sihlangu’s next assignment if the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers match against Angola on June 11 away and then visit Mauritius on June 11 in the same tournament. Sihlangu is also expected to play in the Council of Southern African Football Associations (COSAFA) to be hosted in South Africa next month.

Kunene, with the assistance of Green Mamba Coach Ernest Mavuso and former Royal Leopard Coach Sifiso ‘Nuro’ Ntibane, are expected to lead the game in this tournament while EFA will be still engaged in the process of hiring the full time coach.
