MBABANE – Ekhaya is looking for a ‘home’ to shoot!
Bumba Media, which is behind Ekhaya, the local hit series, has appealed for assistance from the public, as they are looking for film locations to shoot. This was confirmed by Simangele Shongwe, who is the production manager of the media house today (Monday, 17 June 2024).
She said, “We are urgently looking for filming locations within a 30 km radius of Mbabane or Manzini. It must be located in a sparsely populated area to anchor that rural, vast land and Swati lifestyle. It must also be fully furnished.”
The requirements are;
- Rural setting, modern home (with rondavel if possible). Must suit a 50 -year something y/o, so not open plan.
- Rural setting, modern home, open plan, for a 40-year-old with minimalist furnishing.

The Ekhaya drama series recently held its auditions, which will be held on June 8 at the Mbabane Theatre Club.
The media house was looking for six new actors to join the drama series between 20 and 50 years old, both female and male.
It is worth mentioning that the actors from the first season will return to the show, with Thembinkosi Mthethwa as the leading character as well as the other actors in the storyline.”
The last season ended four years ago. This year, Eswatini TV commissioned the drama series to return to small screens.
In 2021, two lead characters of the drama series, namely Thembinkosi Mthethwa and Regina Khumalo, were nominated for the Best Actor/Actress Award at the 2021 SWAMAs.
