…Nation happy and looking forward to voting right

MBABANE – Acting Minister of Home Affairs Chief Ndlaluhlaza Ndwandwe has officially announced the national elections holiday.
The holiday will officially be on September 29, 2023 in accordance with the Public Holidays Act 1998.
“I’m pleased to inform the Nation that next week Friday, September 29, 2023 is declared a National Elections holiday,” said Ndwandwe.
The public’s reaction to the news was welcoming and excited. Some took to their social media platforms to announce and share Ndwandwe’s statement.
“Ngete sasala nasakha live letfu. Let us go vote guys and make a change be part of change,” shared one Facebook user.
Another said “ Siyabonga. Come Friday we are ready to choose and vote well,”,
This was the many other messages that were shared all over social media upon the release of the statement.
Worth mentioning is that the secondary elections will take place on September 29,2023. That will mark the end of the election process.
Winners in the 59 constituency ballots will take seats in parliament’s lower house, along with 10 lawmakers that the king appoints directly.
His Majesty can veto any legislation, appoints the prime minister and cabinet, and is constitutionally above the law.
He also selects 20 of the 30 senators in the upper house. The rest are elected by the lower house.
Candidates cannot be affiliated to any political group under the constitution which emphasises individual merit as the basis for selecting members of parliament and public officials.
