“The Elections and Boundaries Commission. an independent institution mandated by the constitution to ensure free, fair, and credible elections would like to express its profound appreciation of the voter turnout displayed by Emaswati as they participate in the well covered 2023 General Elections,” said Tembe.

He added that the massive turnout, which stood at around 200,000 as of yesterday, could be attributed to the outstanding support given to the excersise by all elections stakeholders. He mentioned a few stakeholders as traditional leaders. non-governmental organisations, and the media. “Transport arrangements have proved to be effective and efficient, facilitating greater participation in the process. The transportation facility aids voters who reside far from polling stations, which includes the aged, disabled people, and nursing mothers, amongst others,” noted the EBC Deputy Chairperson.

He also updated the public on when elections results can be expected.

“The Commission is optimistic that by tomorrow [today], the country will have MP-elects, standing at 59, also 59 Tindvuna tetinkhundla-elects, and 336 Bucopho-elects,” concluded the EBC Deputy Chairperson.

Counting of votes is currently underway in all constituencies in the country.
