MBABANE- The experts are joining the European Film Festival.
In their latest activities, Alliance Francaise has confirmed that they would be hosting the European Film Festival which will be coming to Eswatini for the first time for a three-day programme of screenings and discussions which will be taking place in Mbabane between October 21 and 23, 2022.
Eswatini Positive News interviewed Careen Groening from Alliance Francaise who said the festival would be showcasing European, Eswatini and Lesotho short films.
“There will be a panel discussion with directors and scriptwriters from Eswatini and a workshop for them as well,” she said.
Groening further stated that the purpose of the workshop was to give local script writers, producers and directors a platform to get a feel of what it meant to be in the film industry and acknowledgement and credit for the work they have done so far.
Award winning Serbian Film Director, Stefan Arsenijevic will be presenting a discussion for aspiring directors and screenwriters in using his latest film ‘As Far As I Can Walk’.
The workshop is expected to start at 11 am for the ‘As Far As I Can Walk’ screening and 1pm for the workshop. A short film that earned Arsenijevic an Oscar back in 2003 will be played at the workshop via Live Zoom.
The Alliance Francaise is known a Non-Profit Organisation and is known among emaSwati artist as a hub for the arts in Eswatini. They have hosted open discussions on Sustainable Living and Importance of Permaculture, Career Fairs, Outdoor Cinema, Art Exhibitions Pre-School French Lessons and SiSwati Classes.
