EMASWATI SHOW OUT IN JUBILEE FOR NOMINATIONS

…as many favourites nominated

MBABANE – This weekend was a flurry of sporadic jubilations across the country.

People in different communities celebrated enthusiastically following the nominations of their favourite candidates for the upcoming National Elections.

From Mbabane to Kwaluseni to Nkilongo, nomination centres broke out in song and dance as certain candidates were nominated by popular demand.

Some of the favourites who inspired united chanting and who were hoisted into the the air include Welcome Dlamini who was nominated for Member of Parliament (MP) in Mbabane East, Purine Bhembe who was nominated for MP under Kwaluseni, Sandziso Mamba who was nominated for MP under Nkilongo, Marwick Khumalo who was nominated for MP under Lobamba Lomdzala, Scorpion Nxumalo who was nominated for MP under Madlangemphisi, and John Pires who was nominated for MP under Mbabane West.

“Thank You Mbabane West. An Honour and truly a humbling moment for me,” said John Pires about his nomination.

The nomination exercise for the 2023 National Elections went smoothly this past weekend, where the passions that flared were positive affirmations that the people are excited about participating in the parliamentary elections where they get to elect their representative in Government.

Reporting from Shiselweni for the Eswatini Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC) during one of the  nomination days this weekend, Noncedo Shabalala said the people of Shiselweni came in their numbers because the nominations are an important part of the elections excersise.

“The people of Mathendele are here in their numbers because they say they have been waiting eagerly for this day. They said that this is because the nomination exercise is a very important stage of the elections, hence they had to participate fully,” said Noncedo in the EBC report from Mathendele in Shiselweni. The nominated candidates are expected to start campaigning in the next few weeks, leading up to the elections sometime before November.
