MBABANE– Embiveni Meat Industries (EMI) has not taken over the Biggest Braai event, but has joined forces with Philani Maswati for Biggest Braai.
This was said by Philani Maswati Charity Organisation Chairperson Lutfo Dlamini today (Friday, June 14, 2024). Dlamini was responding to allegations to the effect that Embiveni had taken over the Biggest Braai, which is under the ownership of Philani Maswati.
The upcoming Embiveni Biggest Braai, taking place on July 20, 2024 at Mavuso Exhibition and Trade Centre.
To clear the air, Dlamini mentioned during an interview on Eswatini TV’s Kusile Breakfast Show that the Biggest Braai was still the one that was known by all Emaswati. He said, “Embiveni has not taken over the event, but has partnered with us as a title sponsor.”
Dlamini added that Embiveni would be supplying meat and the proceeds raised would be used to support the needy elderly people in the country. He also stated that this year, two families from Botswana, whom he referred to as bushmen, would be joining the event to bring their expertise, alongside with interpreters to bridge the language gap.
He said such people were known as people who used meat as an integral part of their culture, so they wanted the bushmen to display their culture so that people could see what they used to learn about in schools during their primary school days.
A unique aspect of this year’s event is the invitation to individuals with birthdays on July 20, 21, and 22 to join the celebration. Dlamini said this would be a unique event for people born on these dates. “As an added treat, Village bakery will be providing a special cake for the attendees born on those dates,” Dlamini said.
The fun-filled weekend promises to be jam-packed with entertainment with art exhibitions, food, spinning. Outgoers and music lovers will find plenty to keep them busy, with activities for children and adults alike.
Philani Maswati has extended an invitation to the public to bring any clothes, food or other donations that can help to enrich the lives of the elderly. The organizers are striving to create an event that not only provides entertainment but also serves as an opportunity to give back to the community.
Tickets are priced at E100 for adults, while children under the age of eight are granted free entry. For more information and ticket packages, visitors are encouraged to visit http: www.philanimaswati.org
