ENPF DONATES QUANTUM, BAKKIE TO GOVT

MBABANE – The Eswatini National Provident Fund (ENPF) has donated a 14-seater Toyota Quantum kombi and a Toyota Double Cab bakkie to the Ministry of Labour and Social Security.

The donation happened today (May 20, 2024) at the Ministry’s boardroom, situated in Mbabane. The intention of the donation was to help the Ministry to support vocational schools for people with disabilities in Malkerns and Nhlangano.

ENPF Chairman Mduduzi Gina, during the donation, stated that the organisation would continue to focus on supporting the communities they serve and solidifying their commitment to making a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

The chairman stated that the donation was a landmark achievement in the fund’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) endeavours.

Gina further emphasised the importance of education as a fundamental tool for empowering individuals, highlighting that the donation aligned with the provisions of the ENPF Order, which outlined the eligible beneficiaries for the Fund’s CSR initiatives. Expressing gratitude towards the Government of the Kingdom of Eswatini for ensuring access to education for all its citizens, the chairman also acknowledged the challenges faced by people with disabilities due to unreliable transportation.

He expressed confidence in the effective utilisation of the donated vehicles, anticipating a lasting, positive impact on the students. He asserted that the handover marked a renewed dedication to social responsibility and eagerly awaited the resulting benefits for both students and the wider community.

Ministry for Labour and Social Security Principal Secretary (PS) Makhosini Mndawe, acknowledged the significance of the donated vehicles in enhancing Vocational Training and Rehabilitation Services (VTRS) in Malkerns and Nhlangano.

Mndawe emphasised that these vehicles would play a vital role in transporting students and providing them with essential skills training. Mndawe extended an invitation to ENPF representatives to attend the students’ upcoming graduation ceremony, the date of which would be announced in due course.
