EZULWINI– Just as it is the bank of the nation, the Central Bank of Eswatini (CBE) gave local artists centre stage for its 50th celebration last night.
The bank celebrated its milestone at the Central Bank Complex Site in Ezulwini yesterday (May 10, 2024). The local artists who performed at the beautifully decorated marquee were Saxophonist Fakazi Samuel who was first to perform. He opened his performance with cover version of late pop singer Michael Jackson titled ‘Heal the World.’
Next to perform was local songstress iYa who made her debut perfomance at last years MTN BUSHFIRE Festival. She sang at least three songs.
She was followed by Msimisi Sithole, who gave a brilliant soulful performance, followed by saxophonist Zwile.
He perfomed with Samantha Rudd and gave a brilliant version of the ‘Mbombela we Stimela’ song which got the nod of approval from the guests.
Just when it looked like all the performances were done, South African Jazz Legend Don Laka took to the stage. His shared the stage with local saxophonist Zwile and as usual gave a brilliant performance.

The decorations at the Central Bank Complex Site marquee were top notch. The flowing glittering silver chandeliers and cream white and gold chairs with gold cutlery with centre piece of roses made one think it was the second version of the recent Garden Party that was held at Mandvulo Grand Hall last month.
The colourful fashion from guests was visible as captured by our lenses during the day.
The guests were treated to a scrumptious three -course meal. From a creamy mushroom soup as a starter, to the main meal as well as the desert. The tables also had atleast two bottles of wine . Soft drinks and tea or coffee was served by the waiters who serviced all the tables.
Guests were also treated to gift bags courtesy of the bank as part of its 50th celebration.
Its safe to say that Central Bank threw quite a party.
