MBABANE – Only ten day to go to the Royal Science and Technology Park STEM EXPO to be held at UNESWA Sports Emporium October 28, 2023.
RSTP is hosting the 3rd edition of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) expo. The Eswatini National Youth Council (ENYC) sees this as an opportunity for the young people thus encouraging them to attend.
According to the post made by the organization on Facebook the African Union Agenda 2063 under goals and priority stresses the need for a highly skilled labor force underpinned by Science, Technology, Research and Innovation to transform economies and improve social wellbeing. Hence the need to fill the youth’s minds with critical information on STEM opportunities in Eswatini.
“The Eswatini National Youth Policy highlights the need to provide the youth with entrepreneurship and innovation education programs to take advantage of the 4th Industrial Revolution also the Eswatini National Development Strategy calls for deliberate approaches to addressing skills shortages and mismatches especially in STEM”, reads the post.
It is also said that the Eswatini Skills Audit Report commends comprehensive investment in skills development mainly for specialist professions, technicians and STEM and the provision of grants or scholarships for youth in STEM related fields. STEM Careers is meant to help shape the future.
