MBABANE – Do you have what it takes to be the next Epic Gig Episode V Brand Ambassador?

The Epic Gig Festival is looking for brand ambassadors. The festival put up the post on their Facebook page yesterday afternoon.

When reached for comment, Festival Director Tammy ‘Toxik’ Dlamini confirmed that they were now on the quest to get new brand ambassadors for the fifth edition of the festival, which was slated for June 28–30 at the Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre.

Dlamini shared that, just like last year, the theme was still the same: #IT’S OK TO BE DIFFERENT! He said: “Anyone is free to send an application. They should post a short clip telling us about themselves and why they deserve the spot and tag us.”

When asked if there were specific requirements, he said the ambassadors could be anyone who was interested. They could be plus-size, living with albinism, which spoke to their theme that it’s okay to be who you are.

The entries close on March 31, 2024.

In a previous interview, Dlamini shared that Eswatini was still conservative, and now they were riding on that waggon wave. “But these are our sisters and brothers, and we all know of someone. This is our children’s campaign centred on being okay to be different, which is the core part of this year’s Epic Gig,” he said.

“We are trying to help the youth stay out of trouble by not putting pressure on them. Our youth should know it’s okay to be different, like finding yourself under pressure to drink or have sugar daddies. As a festival, we want to promote good social behaviour.”

Dlamini came up with the logo two years ago but didn’t know how to implement it as we had just come out of the COVID-19 era. “As we were still recovering, we decided to just keep it simple and not overload them with this campaign. So we decided to just make it the normal Epic Gig that people know not to overload them; we didn’t want to confuse people as we are about the youth,” Dlamini said.

The festival director concluded by saying they cared about the youth and addressed their challenges by promoting good social behaviour in society.
