MBABANE – The English Premier League title race is going down on the final day of the 2023/24 season, whereby all premier league games are fixtured for Sunday (19 May 2024) at 1700hrs.

Manchester City and Arsenal are set for thrilling battles as we approach the final day of the season. Title contenders Manchester City and Arsenal will play their last fixtures against West Ham United and Everton, respectively in front of their home fans. As it stands, Manchester City are two points clear at the top of the league with 88 points, ahead of Arsenal who are second with 86 points.

However, Mikel Arteta-led side must beat Everton at the Emirates Stadium while praying that City drop points against the hammers at the Etihad Stadium. In such case, the champions will be determined through goal difference (currently, Arsenal with 61 goals and City with 60 goals) and head-to-head rule if the two finish level on points and the goal difference.

On the other hand, Aston Villa will play in the Champions League for the first since 1983 after Tottenham Hotspurs suffered a 2-0 defeat to Manchester City on Tuesday, as per reports in skysports.com.  Spurs defeat confirmed that the Unai Emery-led side will finish fourth in the 2023/24 season.

Meanwhile, Luton Town will be praying for a miracle to happen in the final fixture of the league. Luton Town and Nottingham Forest will technically be battling to avoid the final relegation place. Forest can still be relegated but it would take a remarkable set of circumstances for that to transpire. On the final matchday, Forest head to Burnley (already relegated), while Luton Town host Fulham. To avoid relegation, Forest needs to win or draw against Burnley while Luton Town would have to defeat Fulham by an incredible score line to stay up.
