Masuku said the media played a huge role in influencing the masses.

“It is important that reporters bring out statistics and concerning issues of life, which might affect future generations. There are many socioeconomic issues which need to be tackled and the media will play a huge role in that,” said Masuku.

On the other hand, the deputy government spokesperson said last year’s riot was a great reflection for government, which encouraged the different ministries to do better and improve on their service delivery.

“We have seen a lot of improvement in many ministries and that needs to be documented. We are still working in some of our shortcomings,” said Mdluli.

EPN Director Mbongeni Ndlela thanked the officials for giving them the platform to meet and interact with them.

“EPN is currently in the process of building platform to bridge the gap between the public and public services. Our mandate is to give useful information and we are on that process,” said Ndlela.
