MBABANE – Eswatini Revenue Service (ERS) and Revenue Services Lesotho (RSL) have collaborated by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to facilitate cooperation and information sharing between the two countries.
The MoU was signed today at the ERS Headquarters in Ezulwini. The MoU was signed by ERS Commissioner General Brightwell Nkambule and RSL Commissioner General Mathabo Mokoko. This was during the visit of Mokoko and her delegation to the country.
The MOU is aimed at enhancing the service delivery of both revenue services and improving cross-border trade. The ERS and RSL are committed to building a strong partnership to promote revenue generation and economic growth in both countries.
The MOU is intended to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange in several areas that are vital to revenue administration, such as best practices in modernisation, legal frameworks, and information technology.
The ERS and RSL will work together to share knowledge and expertise in these areas, in order to improve their respective operations and enhance service delivery to taxpayers. The two organizations are committed to strengthening their partnership and working together to support economic growth in their respective countries.
The ERS presented their digitalisation strategy, customs initiatives, and roadmap for launching their Online Revenue Management System and Tax Ease system.
The ERS team is optimistic that this collaboration will lead to greater efficiency, effectiveness, and transparency in revenue administration. The two organisations are committed to working together to support economic growth and development in their respective countries.
The ERS expressed their appreciation for the opportunity to work with the RSL and looks forward to the benefits that will be realized through this collaboration.
