MBABANE – The Eswatini Christian Medical University (ECMU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with to South African medical school Northwest University.
Leaders from both institution have been engaging each other at a meeting at Lomkiri in Mbabane to finalise some of the details of the working relationship between the two schools. The partnership will encompass support on issues of curriculums, faculty, as well as the student experience.
Speaking on behalf of the ECMU, Adeforlarin Amuh said “We also look forward to helping them out with facilitation of examination papers. Secondly and very significantly, it has to do with the development of our students – as we mentioned earlier, we had the tour before, and as we speak now we have an invitation from NWU for another tour to take our students there in September for that programme. We also would like to see student exchange for training on specific areas, with the intention of making our students well rounded and becoming better.
The last part has to do with faculty member development. One of the thing we would like to see are post-grad opportunities, training including workshops on things like effective writing for grant applications, helping students with supervision.”
He also added that they look forward to more science publications and participations in conferences, both locally and globally.
