MBABANE – The Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA) and Eswatini-based food manufacturers continue to represent Eswatini at Food Taipei, one of Asia’s leading food and beverages exhibitions.
The Eswatini-based food manufacturers are displaying their products at the expo which ends tomorrow June 17. The products on display include alcoholic beverages, maize meal and other grains, honey, coffee and condiments.
Commenting on Eswatini’s participation, Bongani Ntshangase, Head of Trade at EIPA, noted that it is part of a bigger strategy by the EIPA.
“We are happy to once again have the support of TAITRA in sending traders to Taiwan for Food Taipei this year. This is part of a bigger strategy aimed at accomplishing EIPA’s Trade mandate. Food Taipei is but one of the opportunities we put forward to traders in an attempt to offer them the opportunities they need to expand their export capability. These opportunities allow our local traders a chance to penetrate a new client base and market their brands effectively with potential customers and distributors,” said Ntshangase.
“The existence of the Economic Cooperation Agreement (ECA) signed between Eswatini and Taiwan is an added advantage for Eswatini-based businesses in that their goods will be exported to Taiwan duty-free should they be fortunate enough to realise a new market for their products,” added Ntshangase.
According to a statement by the EIPA, Food Taipei is one of Taiwan’s biggest food and beverage trade shows and focuses on fresh fruits and vegetables, preserved fruits and vegetables, poultry, seafood, fresh meat and processed meat products, edible oils, dairy products, organic and vegetarian food, frozen prepared food, canned food, baked food, biscuits, wine and liquor, coffee and tea, juice and soft drinks, condiments and confectionery as well as ice cream.
