MBABANE– Eswatini Clothing Brands Awards will be celebrating and hosting a workshop and awards for clothing brands.
This will happen during their fifth anniversary on November 19 at Happy Valley Hotel where local brand designers will be celebrated, given a platform to showcase their talent, support and promote local brand clothing in Eswatini.
When sought for comment about the awards, organiser Banele Shongwe said before the main event, they would host workshops for clothing brands, train them on how to market their brands and also host a fashion show where brand owners showcase their work and people vote for their favourite designer.
“The response from local brand owners since 2018 has been amazing. We used to have more than 20 brands showcasing their brands but this year we received close to 100 nominees which is really motivating. We have 15 categories under which emaSwati can vote for their favourite local brands.
“These are Brand of the Year, Best New Comer, Best Selling Brand, Best Fashion Brand, Most Popular Brand, Best Fashion Design Brand, Innovative Brand, Brand on Culture, Brand on Streets, International Brand, Christian Brand Corporate Brand and Most Famous Brand, Brand of Class and Style, Best Team, Legendary Brand and Swazi Exclusive Brand,” said Shongwe.
The organiser urged emaSwati to vote for their favourite designers using Eswatini Mobile or MTN which had a fee of E2.85 per vote.
“We will have musical performances from Botswana artist, Khabo Leburu, Notik, TWO3BARS, Mike, SadBoy-DLR, Elihle Nhlane, Double TV and many more,” said Shongwe.
