MBABANE– A great gesture from Eswatini Communication Commission (ESCCOM) staff members.
At least 61 students will be in luck to be gifted a new pair of school shoes and socks that were donated by staff members from the Eswatini Communication Commission (ESCCOM) to Deputy Prime Minister Thulisile Dladla yesterday.
The staff from the ESCCOM used their own money to pitch in to buy the 61 pairs of shoes and socks, which will be handed over to the vulnerable students as part of the DPMO back-to-school campaign.
The Director for Strategy and Economic Regulations, Lindiwe Dlamini spoke on behalf of the organisation at the donation. She shared with the DPM that the staff members of ESCCOM came together and pitched in money, which was over E10, 000, to buy the shoes and socks.
The school shoes are for both primary and high school students and come in sizes 9–6 for both girls and boys. Dlamini shared that they received the request from the DPM’s office for assistance, but because they hadn’t allocated money for it, they decided to come together as the staff members of ESCCOM to make the donation.
The donation was handed over today by some of the staff members from ESCCOM to the office of the DPM.
