ESWATINI CYCLING ASSOCIATION SG FOR CYCLING SEMINAR IN EGYPT

MBABANE– Cycling in Eswatini has been taken to greater heights!

The Eswatini Cycling Association (ECA) Secretary General Mxolisi Kenneth Shongwe will be attending a seminar on cycling organisation scheduled December 7 to December 10, 2022 in Egypt.

The four-day seminar titled ‘Organisation in Cycling’ is hosted by the Confederation of African Cycling (CAC) and is aimed at improving the way cycling events are organized and managed.

As per the correspondence from the President of the Confederation of African Cycling, Dr Wagih Azzam, who also is the Vice President of the World Cycling Governing Body, the UCI, the seminar is held in framework of the pursuance of the development plans of cycling in Africa, CAC and UCI continue to hold a seminar regarding the organization in cycling that will take place in CAC Headquarter. The seminar will cover many important items.  

“We are grateful for the support we have received from the Eswatini Sport & Recreation Council who have made it possible for the Secretary General to attend this all-important seminar as we look to build on the success of the 2022 cycling season as we develop our plan for next year. We are looking forward to this being a learning and networking experience that will not only open our eyes on areas where we could possibly improve, but also open doors and pathways to fruitful partnerships and collaborations with other African states,” said Mxolisi Shongwe, the Secretary General of ECA.

“On behalf of the cycling community in Eswatini, I would like to wish our Secretary General a safe trip and we are counting on it being a productive one that will enhance our sport in the long-term. He’ll be leaving the country on Tuesday the 6th and is expected back home on the December 11, 2022.

“The trip would definitely not been possible without the support of the Eswatini Sport and Recreation Council who covered the costs of the flight to Egypt. Also to take this opportunity to highlight our cycling season is not quite over yet as we are looking to have at least two more events which we are still finalizing with our partners and we’ll be sharing details soon,” said Sifiso Zwide Ndwandwe, President of ECA.
