MBABANE – Since the week started, Eswatini has been exposed and profiled by over six internationally renowned newsrooms.
This is thanks to the visits by His Majesty King Mswati III who took off to Qatar, His Excellency the Prime Minister Cleopas Sipho Dlamini who flew out to the Republic of Taiwan and the Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Themba Nhlanganiso Masuku who is currently in New York.
These three visits have each garnered a number of media houses internationally that have been reporting fondly and closely.
His Majesty’s visit has been televised on all Qatar prime time stations and over three hardcopy publications.
The publications include the award winning Wall Street Journal, the Guardian and New York Times online publication.
The Republic of Taiwan has over 60 media houses, and out of this over 25 have profiled and reported on Eswatini and the delegation currently visiting the country.
This means, the PM’s trips have been making waves on three national and prime time media outlets since he arrived, giving Eswatini and its government another exposure.
The most recent trip is that of DPM who jetted out of the country a day ago. He is currently representing the country in New York, the world of effective media.
A social media expert and feature journalist, Simmone- Rue Jules said the mileage the country is getting is set to bring in more sponsors. She mentioned that at a time where a lot is going in the country exposure during these kind of trips was paramount.
“When another country is graced by the Head of State, the media will always report on it and this is great publicity for Eswatini.
This week alone the country’s diplomats are in three different countries that are huge and this is positive exposure,” she said.
Meanwhile Government Spokesperson Alpheus Nxumalo said media and government have always created a good relationship which always comes in handy. “Indeed, the media and government has successfully created a positive synergy in order to serve the public effectively with dissemination of information in the country. Government shall forever be appreciative of this good relationship,” he said.
