MBABANE – The Eswatini Football Association (EFA) recently hosted Mozambique for a series of developmental matches under the Technical Development Scheme (TDS). The event provided an excellent opportunity for U15 boys and girls from both countries to develop their talent. The matches were played on Saturday, August 19th, 2023, and a total of 12 games were played, with 30 goals scored.

FIFA’s Technical Development Committee (TDC) Members were in attendance at the event. The TDS is a football development program aimed at nurturing young soccer talent. The EFA’s Technical Director, Mr. Bhekisisa Mkhonta, praised FIFA’s investment in football development and emphasized the importance of hosting such events, saying that playing against international opponents at a young age enhances player development.

The Mozambique teams emerged as champions in both the girls and boys sections and were presented with two trophies and gold medals. The event was applauded by stakeholders in the sporting industry, with LETSOAKI, a committee member of the Technical Development Scheme remarking that it was a good investment for the future.
