MBABANE – His Majesty King Mswati III has implored Eswatini Medical Fund, also known as SwaziMed to always be transparent with their client’s money.
This was when His Majesty King Mswati III toured and officially opened the Ezulwini Private Hospital, owned by SwaziMed yesterday.
His Majesty christened the new E400 million Ezulwini Private Hospital as Sitselo Semphilo Ezulwini Private Hospital.
The King later revealed the Eswatini Medical Fund has assets worth E3 billion.
Worth mentioning is that SwaziMed offers five benefit options and each individual should choose an option according to his/her health care needs. For all the options benefits are paid at 100 per cent of scale of benefits with adequate annual limits.
Members can claim a 20 per cent saving balance once they reach 12 months of membership. SwaziMed will only pay this if the member has a tax directive issued by the tax authorities.
“We are pleased to note that this massive investment is an addition to the country’s economic and social revival efforts, which will lead to better health, welfare, and prosperity for the Nation,” said His Majesty.
“We congratulate the members of SwaziMed and the organization for this great achievement. Any capital investment of this magnitude should be emulated by other organizations to ensure that they improve the interests and protected interests of their members,” said the King in addition.
His Majesty further thanked SwaziMed, for leading a home-grown health services provider, and for its visionary leadership in building this state-of-the-art hospital, not just for the benefit of its members but for the nation at large.
Ezulwini Private Hospital is one of the country’s largest hospitals with 87 beds. It provides comprehensive health care.
