The specialised drill training will take place in Matsapha Police Academy. The members of the Gauteng Department of Community Safety are believed to have been welcomed by REPS today at their training base in Matsapha.

According to information from REPS’ Facebook page, the training takes place at a time when the South Africans are preparing for their upcoming pass out parade. According to the organisation, the training was not just any training, but it was an opprotinity to strenghthen bonds between the two organisations.

The bond between these two organisations also meant that the relationship between Eswatini and South Africa would grow even stronger than before. The post by REPS drew comments from many Facebookers, who commended what was done by the local police.

The Facebookers were impressed by the fact that the local police were able to share their knowledge with the rest of their counterparts from outside the country. One Facebooker said he was not a police officer, but he was happy that what was done by the local police improved the image of REPS as an organisation.

Another Facebooker viewed this development as evidence that the Matsapha Police College now offered advanced training courses in relation to policing and safety in general. Another Facebooker suggested that even the police officers from the South African Police Service (SAPS) had to come to the country to learn some skills from the local police officers.

It is also worth mentioning that this is not the first time the local police organisation has trained police officers from outside the country. In 2012, police from Equatorial Guinea also came to this country to receive some skills exchange with the local police officers.

The training also took place in Matsapha Police Academy, which was then officially known as the Matsapha Police College. This happened while the police organisation was still under the leadership of Senator Isaac Magagula, who was the National Police Commissioner at the time.
