MBABANE – The pervasiveness of farewell parties called proms in high schools has resulted in the Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture partnering with Eswatini Prom Closet to help donate prom outfits to those who need them.
Siphesihle Nkwanyana, founder of Eswatini Prom Closet expressed an appreciation of their supporters during the launch. “This initiative is the launch of Eswatini Prom Closet. Eswatini Prom Closet is an idea whereby we want to bring dignity to disadvantaged girls and boys who are completing their high school life and are ready for prom. So, we want to encourage members of the public to come and donate for us so that we are able to give back to the students who want to go to prom,” revealed Nkwanyana.
She added that Eswatini Prom Closet has “partnered with youth organisations where we want youth organisations to give words of wisdom to these students as they complete their high school life and as they transition into tertiary education. We’ll having dream building workshops – we want to build their dreams so that they are ready for tertiary and the world out there.”
The launch event was held today at Mdzimba View in Mbabane.
