He was speaking during a follow up interview with this publication, having announced last week that results should be expected shortly after the Christmas holidays.

“ECESWA will have a definite response on the dates of the release of the results next week. We have been in constant communication with them as some of the marking processes have been concluded.” He said.

In addition to that, Gama said when they had the exact dates they would work hand-in-hand with the media and parents to ensure results are released on time.

“We are trying to be as quick as possible because, school are opening on January 17, 2023 and we want to allow parents plenty time to find spaces,” he said in addition.

Worth  noting is that these are results of Form III learners, who sat for their Junior Certificate (JC), and Eswatini Primary Certificate (EPC), written by Grade VII pupils in 2022

To ensure that the results of these learners are not delayed as some of them will need to secure spaces in new schools, marking of these examination scripts commenced while the learners were writing other papers.

The marking of the examinations scripts started while the examinations for other grades were on-going. The external examinations were written by completing pupils which included Form Vs, Form Ills and Grade VII, the first paper was written on November 28, 2022, while Grade VIIs sat for their first paper on December 5, 2022.

Normally, certain schools per region are used as marking centres the last examination paper was written on December 19, 20122 by Form III pupils The 2022 academic year had only two terms, not the normal three. The last time the country had a normal school calendar was in 2019. This was due to the outbreak of COVID-19.
