MBABANE – In spite of the significant decrease in tourism since the Covid-19 pandemic, the Kingdom of Eswatini continues to be a leading tourist destination in the continent of Africa.
The latest reports from the United Nation World Tourism Organisation shows the kingdom was the fifth most visited country in Africa in the year 2021. The Kingdom of Eswatini is tied with Mauritius and Seychelles, which also recorded about the same number of international tourists in 2021 – 200,000.
The only other countries which had more tourists in 2021, according to UNTWO, are South Africa, Tanzania, Ethiopia, and the French region Reunion.
