MBABANE – Eswatini TV has committed to fully cater for football fans this FIFA World Cup 2022.

The television station announced that some programmes will be affected as they bring viewers all the action from Qatar. “For the very first time in its history, the station is hosting fan parks. We were hoping to reach out to all four regions, however we will only have four of those from November 26, to the final game on December 18,” said Dlamini.

She revealed that they will start in Mbabane on November 26, move to Simunye on December 3, be in Manzini on the weekend of December 10, and conclude with the finals screening in Mbabane on the weekend of December 18.

The FIFA World Cup 2022 fan parks will feature live perfomances by artists, and vendors will be invited to sell their products to the fans.

This unprecedented screening of the global football extravaganza has been made possible by Eswatini Mobile and KFC sponsorships to Eswatini. Eswatini Mobile led the way with a E190,000 committment to the games, as announced in September. KFC followed suit with a sponsorhip which has brought the total sponsorship to over E500,000.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup is the 22nd edition of the competition, and the first to be played in the Arab world. The draw for the World Cup group phase took place in Doha, Qatar, on the April 1 2022.
