These were the words said by Director of Micro Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) Mluleki Dlamini today at the Traders Business Development workshop held in Lavumisa. Dlamini was representing Minister of Commerce Industry and Trade Manqoba Khumalo.

Dlamini emphasised the need for economic growth in Eswatini as a means of fulfilling His Majesty’s vision of the country becoming a First World nation. The Director stated that the workshop was in line with Sibaya submissions and was a perfect example of Eswatini’s dedication to driving economic development.

He also highlighted the challenges faced by business owners in the country, noting that the Ministry was aware of these difficulties and committed to working towards solutions that would promote business growth and improve the Eswatini economy.

He further stated that the Trading Licences Amendment Order of 2023, which was amended to cater to the needs of the country, requires a 1-day turnaround for applicants who possess the necessary documents. This policy change is aligned with the World Bank’s Business Ready initiative.

It is hoped that the knowledge shared during the 5-day workshop, which covered a wide range of topics, including chemical safety and handling as presented by the Eswatini Environmental Authority (EEA), will be implemented by the participants in their respective businesses and communities.

Dlamini expressed his gratitude to World Vision Eswatini for sponsoring the workshop and for their on-going efforts in transforming communities and advocating for children and people in need.

He also thanked the stakeholders who participated and shared their expertise and guidance, noting that their contributions were invaluable in supporting the development of Eswatini’s businesses and economy.
