ESWATINI YOUTH PARLIAMENT FIGHT CLIMATE CHANGE BATTLE WITH INNOVATIVE IDEAS

Matsapha – Eswatini Youth Parliament has pledged to contribute significantly to the nation’s fight against this global issue. Young leaders expressed their dedication during a recent gathering, the Climate Change Youth Parliament, Governors, and Proposal Development Workshop held in Matsapha.

According to Eswatini TV, Eswatini has seen the harsh effects of climate change, prompting the government to collaborate with UNDP in a united effort to leave no one behind, actively involving the youth in their initiatives.

During the workshop, young and passionate voices emerged, emphasizing the importance of innovative solutions rooted in the creative minds of young people. The youth firmly asserted that their role goes beyond mere rhetoric; they are dedicated to educating themselves and generating groundbreaking ideas that can propel the nation forward in its battle against climate change.

Dr. Jabulile Malaza, representing the Eswatini Parliament, emphasized the essential role of oversight in addressing climate change challenges. “The parliament we know that it has this special core mandate, which is legislation, representation as well as oversight to see into issues of our climate change”.

Founded with a vision to empower young minds, the Youth Parliament stands as a beacon of hope, providing a platform for the youth to channel their innovative solutions. Recognizing the urgency of the matter, the youth underscored the necessity of first educating themselves and the broader public about the complexities of climate change before formulating comprehensive strategies.
