MBABANE – In a purposeful move to enhance service efficiency and maintain ethical standards within the Ministry of Home Affairs, Minister Princess Lindiwe has issued a strong call to action for officials to prioritize integrity and battle misconduct.
The Minister’s directive was made during a high-level meeting dedicated to validating the National Migration Policy for Eswatini.
During her address to the high-level assembly, Princess Lindiwe emphasised the critical importance of coordinating the migration policy with the upcoming immigration bill. She described the policy as a crucial component that facilitates the efficient management of migration processes within Eswatini, ensuring a more systematic and effective system.
The Minister further highlighted the urgent need for the Ministry to revamp its legislative framework to align with Eswatini’s aspirations to attaining first-world status and adhering to commitments outlined in the renowned ‘Nkwe Declaration.’ Stressing the gravity of the situation, Princess Lindiwe underlined the ongoing developments surrounding the Immigration Bill, emphasising its crucial role in fulfilling the nation’s mandate.
The Immigration Bill, currently in advanced stages of developments, is composed to become a foundation in providing the necessary legal base to regulate the entry, stay and departure of individuals within Eswatini’s borders.
Princess Lindiwe stressed that this legislation is essential in securing the country’s governance structures and protecting national interests.
