MBABANE– Design trainees in Vuvulane are getting ready for their graduation after successfully completing their four-month training course.
The training is under JEREMPAUL which was founded in 2010, as a socially conscious business dedicated to honouring and preserving Eswatini heritage, as well as improving lives and perspectives through art, design, and food.
The training has been made possible through the partnership of JEREMPAUL, the European Union Eswatini, and the Alliance for Action.
Director of JEREMPAUL Khulekani Msweli revealed he was proud of the learners.
“I am so proud of the learners, in Vuvulane, that I and various facilitators have imparted our knowledge to. We are on the last leg of our training, where they learned how to make various accessories using wood and bamboo. Their graduation will be at the end of this month and everyone is invited to celebrate their achievements,” said Msweli.
Msweli further mentioned that despite the challenges, they have always been determined to impart knowledge.
“Despite all the challenges, we have continued creating, teaching and learning. We cannot afford to drop the ball. We believe that knowledge and skills are extremely crucial for young people to remain hopeful and focused. We have introduced the learners to the various industry shops,” said Msweli. Msweli recently got back from Paris in France where together with his contemporary art partners, Yebo Art Gallery, were exhibiting some of the designs at JEREMPAUL at the Maison & Objet show.
