MBABANE – The newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs and
International Cooperation Pholile Shakantu has highlighted the need for every Liswati to project a positive image for the country on the global stage.

Hitting the ground running, Shakantu stated that it is the duty for every citizen to carry themselves in a manner that will reflect a good image of the country in the eyes of the world.

Shakantu also addressed concerns raised by Emaswati during the recent Sibaya People’s Parliament, particularly the political system and foreign policies.

She outlined a strategic plan to enhance communication on these issues.

Shakantu expressed the ministry’s commitment to fostering stronger relations with other countries and international bodies, recognizing that the nation operates within a global context.

“As a country, we do not work in isolation. Therefore, we will prioritize the improvement of communication on issues raised by our citizens. We must engage Emaswati both within and outside our borders, transforming them into ambassadors for our nation,” she said.

She continued: “I held a meeting with the heads of departments to discuss some of the issues at the table. I will also seek an appraisal from them on the functioning of their respective departments,” said Shakantu.
