MBABANE – “I feel like everyone in the country will be using an iPhone by year 2024 because we are moving with the times.”
The above was articulated by one of the country’s leading technical engineer, Banele Bhembe. He was speaking in his capacity as a tech head during an online webinar seminar held earlier today.
Bhembe said when buying a new phone, people usually have to choose between two of the most popular operating systems. He further gave reasons why switching from Android to iPhone is a good idea.
“I think as a country we were held back by the ‘classism’ that comes with owning an apple product. People think it means you are rich but apple products make your life better, and this of course should not take away any experience to those who own and prefer android,” said Bhembe when addressing 40 participants from across the world.
In addition to that he gave instances where an iphone could come in handy; he counted the cabinet offices, entertainment industry and the growing number of content creators in the country.
“I hope people will not get me wrong, what I’m saying is apple is better because it makes content creation better, communication faster. I have lived in the United States where a seven year old uses an iPhone as their play gadget, that should tell you something,” he said.
Meanwhile in the country iPhones have been flying off the shelves from outlets like MTN Eswatini, Eswatini Mobile and other reputable Indian shops.
When MTN Eswatini Communication specialist Thandiwe Mashinini was sought for comment, she said even though the might be truth to iphones flying off their shelves there would need to be a formal presentation from the business unit.
Meanwhile Navid Mohammed an owner of Chumana Electronics by Clicks in Mbabane said his iPhone customers ranged from high school pupils to businessman.
“There is a high demand of iPhones in Eswatini, I supply over 40 iPhones weekly to customers, I will not lie iPhone is better,” he said.
According to the internet Information security companies unanimously agree that Apple devices are more secure than Android devices. According to a report by Forbes, 97 per cent of smartphone malware targets Android phones.
Android phones get malware and viruses particularly from app stores. Apple’s App Store has fewer apps to offer than the Android phones’ app store, but the number of available apps is not the most important element of app stores.
Members of the public when interviewed about their preferences a number of them said they were using android because of affordability.

Apple phones keep their resale value far better than Android phones. IPhones are made of high-quality a material, which goes a long way in helping them maintain their resale value. Apple phones also remain as flagship models and up-to-date longer, as there is only one manufacturer and new and better phones aren’t launched as often as Android phones.

I’m actually saving up for an iphone as a gift to myself for Christmas and I’m honestly buying it for the picture quality it comes with.

The Apple iPhone is a good choice for children, especially if the entire family is using Apple devices and phones. Phone use is safe because parents can easily keep track of what their children are doing with their phones. In a previous blog post, we’ve listed reasons why the iPhone is a great choice for a child’s first phone.

Apple phones are known for their ease of use. Their usability comes from simple operating logic: all the apps are launched from the home screen. All the settings, for example, can be found less than one menu. And even if you upgrade your iPhone to the newest model, the operating system still works the same way and taking it into use is easy.

I actually use an iphone and tell you what, the devices work seamlessly and effortlessly together. You do not need to download or install separate applications to link them together, it is enough when you sign in to the devices with the same Apple ID. Photos, emails, notes and calendars can be shared to all the devices. You also don’t have to pay twice for apps, movies or books they can be found on all your devices.
