MBABANE – After finishing third in their second term in the elite league, Nsingizini Hotspurs President Derrick Shiba has promised first world football next season.
In his end of the season statement, Shiba said the season has been a magnificent one as they defended the MoMo Cup and also finished third in the MTN Premier League on their second season playing in the top flight.
He congratulated the champions, Mbabane Swallows for the job well done and said they have learnt a lot from them. He thanked the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) and the Eswatini Football Association (EFA) for the smooth running of the league.
“The transformation of the club comes as a result of the turnaround strategy implemented by the board. In January the board took a decision to make changes in the technical team and the playing squad was also refreshed to bring some positive energy that took the team to another level.
I must commend the board and management for taking some tough decisions in the interest of the club,” he said.
Shiba said that is why the team did not lose any match in the second round of the MTN Premier League. He said what was also key was coming victorious against the four of last seasons top five.
“We boast with the best defensive record in the premier league. As part of our achievements as a club we had played called to represent the national, four with males teams and eight with the ladies team. The future requires investment on the offensive part of umgugudla. We are positive about the future,” he said.
Shiba added that the growth in the club wouldn’t have been positive without their partners being Eswatini Meat Industries, Primo and Siphambanweni Milling.
“We also want to thank our international partners for contributing significantly in the growth of the club. We are coming back with first world football in the new season. The pre-season is a packed team activities where details will be shared with supporters in due course,” he said.
He then invited their supporters to the end of the season awards ceremony that will be held this weekend at Nsingizini Hotspurs training ground, Hlutse.
