MBABANE – “Expect a massive production.” These words were echoed by local gospel artist Linda Dlamini on what to expect on his live recording featuring the Manzini Choir set for May this year.
In what is set to be an unforgettable recording experience, Dlamini will be recording his third live CD and DVD on May 4 this year at the Luke Commission.
When reached for comment, Dlamini shared with this publication that this will be a one-of-a-kind experience in Eswatini. “It will be a massive production. The stage will be big enough to accommodate the legendary Manzini Choir, which I used to be part of. I will be re-establishing the Linda Dlamini brand. I want my fans to separate Kufeziwe Communication, which is my company, and me,” said the artist.
When quizzed on why he chose to feature the Manzini Choir specifically, he said, “That’s where I actually started my singing career. I was singing tenor from 2012–2016. From then on, I went to launch my solo career. Which is why the choir is so special to me; it’s where it all started. Hence, the stage design I want will also be massive, as the choir will be part of the production.” Dlamini made reference to the late South African gospel artist Sifiso Ncwane live dvd, where he featured a choir at the Durban ICC.
When asked which other artists would be part of the recording, he was very economical and said, “It is a surprise. I want to break this norm of going to a show because so and so will be part of the show; people must attend because its Linda Dlamini’s recording, not because someone else is coming.”
He went on to share that it will be a red carpet experience, hence why people should go out and contact their designers to look their best. “This recording will have the potential to go international because of its massiveness. There will also be different types of gospel, from traditional to contemporary and more.’
