MBABANE-Dust your tents because it’s camping time again!
The annual biggest campfire festival, the Mlawula Campfire Festival, is bringing its heat again this year on October 28, 2022 to October 30, 2022 at Mlawula Nature Reserve.
Eswatini Positive News (EPN) entertainment desk spoke to Bongekile Mngometulu, who is Mlawula Nature Reserve point of contact, about the festival.
“The festival concept started three years ago and was inspired by trying to get more people adapt to the idea of camping and just testing themselves on their endurance and how they react in the wilderness”, said Mngometulu.
Mngometulu further mentioned that camping was more enjoyable when people did it as a group so they made group packages for campers.
“We also decided to make it more enjoyable by keeping everyone entertained and by having entertainment activities such as team building exercises, hiking, aerobics, comedy shows, kids games, live music performances- just to name a few.
“Over the years the festival has gained a lot of momentum and we have seen more people camping as friends, couples and families here at Mlawula and emaSwati are still buying tickets to the festival. We are very excited about this year’s entertainment line-up which includes acts like Sherperd Brothers, Illa Penboy, Gedlembane- just to name a few”, said Mngometulu.
