MBABANE – Ezulwini Municipality is all for youth empowerment.
The Ezulwini Municipality is inviting the youth in Ezulwini to participate in the Ezulwini Youth Forum tomorrow at the Mananga College from 10.30am. This is aimed at giving the young people in the area an opportunity to voice out their wishes in regards to how the municipality may assist them.
During an interview with Nomphilo Ndlangamadla, Ezulwini Municipality Economic Development Officer, she mentioned that the initiative was brought forth by observations from the municipality.
“We find challenges in gathering the youth at times, so this time around, we thought it would be a great initiative to call together an organised group of young people that would assist in disseminating the information that we have to share with the youth here in Ezulwini,” said Ndlangamandla.
The Economic Development Officer mentioned that the ‘Youth Forum’ would serve as an active forum in addressing issues that have to do with the wellness of the youth.
“We want the youth to be able to bring forth their ideas of different initiatives that they would like to embark on. This will allow the municipality to help them based on what they have brought forth. As the municipality, we also want to help in creating markets for businesses that the youth would like to venture into,” she said.
Ndlangamandla finally noted how in the past, the municipality would bring in initiatives and perhaps that was not what the youth wanted. She mentioned that this time, everything would be done in an orderly manner that would also help them as the municipality to truly be involved and hear exactly how the youth wishes to be assisted.
