The announcement of the second edition of the festival was made by the founder of Farmers Market, Culolami Dlamini, when he took to Facebook and posted a picture captioned ‘The second edition of the El World Music Experience will be held September 9, 2023.’
The first edition of the festival was held at Malkerns Country Club in September last year and was a huge success as it had an enormous turnout, with tickets being sold out and the arena packed to the brim.
It saw a lot of renowned local artists perform, including the likes of Bholoja, Trend Twins, DJ MBO and Celumusa, to mention a few. When reached for comment, Dlamini said this year’s edition is going to be bigger and better.
He said, “We have addressed all the issues that were raised by last year’s attendees to make the event an even better experience; we have a lot of ideas on how to improve the festival.”
He went on to add that they have an even better line-up for this year in terms of local and international acts. Dlamini also mentioned that even this year they have partnered with South African musician Sun EL Musician, who has been the official partner of Eswatini Farmer’s Market since last year.
Dlamini said the venue for the event is yet to be announced as they are still in the process of sorting and confirming certain logistics with possible venues.
According to Dlamini, when Sun El collaborated with the Farmers Market to bring such an event for the first time last year, its main objective was to create a unique farmers’ exhibition experience that would facilitate trade and create a platform for farmers to directly market in a fashionable way.
This was going to be an event that made agriculture fashionable, where farmers would showcase their cooking skills and infuse food and lifestyle. Sun El Musician confirmed the return of the second edition of the exhibition festival through a post he made on his Instagram story.
