MBABANE– The goat races event this past Saturday was but filled with colour, fashion, laughter and high spirits from all who attended the event at Mhlume Country Club.
The goat races are a unique annual event that have been hosted by Mhlume Country Club for over 10 years. The theme is Durban July, but not with horse racing but with goats. The races are the heart of the event but also fashion and fun are what makes the event so popular.
The Entertainment Desk spoke to Thembisile Simelane, Communications Officer from Mhlume Club, who said that the event had really been gaining momentum over the years but this year was truly spectacular.
“We have been hosting the goat races for the past 10 years but we were really excited about the number of people who attended this year and we would like to thank all of them for participating and making the event a success,” said Simelane.
Simelane also said that their marketing strategy, which was advertising their goats in a funny manner, was what attracted more people because it made them laugh but also made people want to come to the races.
