MBABANE – Eswatini Development Finance Corporation (FINCORP) has won the Best Stand Award under the non-bank financial institutions category at the Eswatini International Trade Fair (EITF) 2023 exhibition.
The exhibition was held at the Mavuso Trade and Exhibition Centre in Manzini from September 1 to 10. The excellence awards ceremony was held on Monday. It was graced by the Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Trade, Manqoba Khumalo, who also represented the Prime Minister, Cleopas Dlamini.
The award was bestowed to FINCORP for its inviting and aesthetically brilliant design that incorporated a relaxed and interesting inbred set-up environment for the company’s clients, prospective clients, and other stakeholders. The awards selection was made through an anonymous judging panel visiting the stands.
FINCORP’s award is a testament to the countless hours of work and dedication to curating the company’s stand amongst the top most attractive stands at the trade fair. The company exhibited at the trade fair alongside its two subsidiaries, First Finance Company and Finsure Assurance Limited. FINCORP is one of the few companies that brought more than one brand in one big stand at the trade fair.
FINCORP is one of the few government-owned companies that have 100 per cent owned subsidiaries. People visited the stand in large numbers as they wanted to know more about the companies.
“We are delighted with this award which recognizes excellence and is indicative of our strong brand which is now over 27 years old, and has in recent years diversified its product offering by setting up two subsidiary companies; First Finance Company and Finsure Assurance Limited. We are thrilled but at the same time humbled by the recognition for this award, and we can’t thank our dynamic team enough for their continuous hard work and the Board of Directors for their continued support and guidance,” said FINCORP Group Managing Director, Dumisani Msibi.
FINCORP’s stand was visited by His Majesty King Mswati III on two occasions during the exhibition. The first occasion was during the official opening of the EITF 2023. The second instance was when he led the tour of his VVIP State guests which included His Majesty King Letsie III of Lesotho, King Ndamase II of AmaMpondo, former president of South Africa Jacob Zuma, and former President of Botswana Ian Khama. On these both occasions, the King commended the company for a job well done.
FINCORP together with the rest of the winners from the various categories was congratulated by Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Trade, Manqoba Khumalo.
The minister thanked all the exhibitors for the excellent work, “All the stands were top notch and created a first world atmosphere throughout the entire trade fair. That is well received. It shows that companies do not take the trade fair for granted, but put their best foot forward in showcasing what the country has to offer. Thank you very much,” he said.
The minister announced that the next trade fair will be held from August to September 8, 2024. He further advised companies to start preparing for the next edition of the showcase and to secure spaces as early as possible, because the appetite for the stands is extremely high and the competition for space is fierce.
