MALKERNS– Lit does not even begin to describe the first day of the 16th edition of MTN Bushfire.
The internationally acclaimed Festival kicked off yesterday and saw over 2000 pack up the event. Kicking off local acts like Lution, Velemseni and The Bishops it could be said the mandatory energy is already set for day two today.
This year saw the introduction of new stages which included the vibrant Amstel stage.
Locals and tourists were treated to a series of conscious celebration of unity in diversity and an inspiring emblem of social inclusion, this was done through the different genres of music performed.
Artists like Mookoba, Megatronic, Abb Nurock gave African vibes while Supa CDQ offered everyone a feel of Eswatini music.
One of the tourists and avid Bushfire lover Selena Mckanzie said for her the first day of MTN Bushfire represented the kind of world she would like to see.
“Today was about a global community of change-makers, thought leaders, and creative problem solvers who unite in a celebration of the arts and in the spirit of taking action against discrimination, environmental degradation and poverty. Today was not about partying and alcohol there is a lot more,” she said.
