MBABANE- Clement Dlamini, the founder of the Swazi Fest Writers Awards, has revealed that five more categories have been added to the 2022 Swazi Fest Writers Awards.
The Categories that have been added are Lifetime Influential Author, Best siSwati Fictional Author, Best Radio/ Short Story Author, Best Newspaper Journalist and Best Script writer.
EPN spoke with Clement Dlamini who said that this was the second event as the first one was held in 2021.
“The aim is to motivate, appreciate and honour all of EmaSwati who are making a difference through writing which enhances the lives of emaSwati hence the added categories,” said Dlamini.
The total number of categories for this year is 15 which are Best Creative Writer, Best English Fictional Author, Best Informative Author, Best SiSwati Author, Best Poem Compilation Book Author, Best Young Writer, Favourite Newspaper Columnist, Best Online Arts and Entertainment Magazine, Best- Selling Author, Best SiSwati Fictional Author, Best Radio/ Short Story Author, Best Academics Author, Best Newspaper Journalist and Lifetime Influential Author.
Dlamini further urged emaSwati to vote for their favourite writers digitally through their website www.swazifest.com or check their Facebook page Swazi Fest Writer’s Awards for voting posters with each author’s code.
“The winner will be chosen according to the number of votes. Voting closes on October 30, 2022 the winners will receive a certificate, a trophy and a money prize of E1000 as well as a trip to Mozambique.
The event will be hosted at Bethel Court in Ezulwini on November 26, 2022. The entrance is E200 and the event will start at 11am.”
The guest speaker is Siphesihle Nkwanyana and Miyanda Mahlangu is the host. Performances will be by Nokania (artist) and Mpumalanga (poet).
