MBABANE– In an effort to empower young entrepreneurs in the country, the Lubombo MTN Eswatini and Junior Archivement Eswatini (JA) Regional Tour yesterday awarded five budding businesspeople from Lubombo region with E50 000 as seed capital for their ventures. The initiative aims to create sustainable business opportunities for these entrepreneurs and uplift local economies.
E50 000 was awarded on Wednesday to 5 winners. MTN Chief Executive Wandile Mtshali lauded the brilliant ideas that the youth have displayed. He encouraged them to pursue their dreams and upscale their business to significantly contribute to the country’s economy.
JA Eswatini Executive Director Phetsile Masilela noted how 90% of the youth were degree holders who were determined to change the unemployment scourge that the youth is facing. She encouraged them to grow their businesses and create more employment for every Swazi child.
Five entrepreneurs got awarded a seed capital of E10 000 each after making convincing presentations of their business plans before a panel of four judges.
The winners are:
- Kayise Bhembe of KSG Farming
- Kevin Dupont of Kerv’s Precision Grooming Salon
- Ncamiso Ngcamphalala
- Mduduzi Shabangu of ED & Ocean Scene
- Ntombifuthi Maseko of Ntombifuthu Goat Rearing.
The winners had to undergo a rigorous selection process, where they were required to present their business proposals to a panel of judges. According to MTN Eswatini, the panel was impressed with the innovative ideas and the potential they hold for growth and development.
