MBABANE – In a display of compassion and generosity, Ching Ling Tsuei, the Deputy Ambassador of Taiwan to Eswatini, reached out to the community of Gilgal chiefdom with a heart warming donation of food supplies, including 120 bags of rice and blankets last Thursday (30 May 2024).
Tsuei, representing Taiwan’s commitment to support Eswatini, pledged that the country would continue its efforts to assist the impoverished and join in humanitarian efforts, particularly in combating hunger.
He added that Taiwan had a program specifically tailored to empower rural women by providing capital loans for them to start their own businesses. This is reflecting Taiwan’s belief in investing in the local community.
This statement echoed Taiwan’s dedication to building stronger relationships with Eswatini and fostering economic and social development in the region.
Gilgal Member of Parliament (MP) Sifiso Gadlela voiced out his gratitude to Taiwan’s assistance, recognizing that the donation would make a significant impact on the lives of his constituents.
He mentioned that Taiwan had promised to involve the community in projects such as guava farming, which would generate income for locals, and provide training on entrepreneurship skills. He further stressed that this initiative would be beneficial in helping people improve their economic circumstances and lead more prosperous lives.
