MBABANE- Tibiyo Taka Ngwane Managing Director Dr Absalom Themba Dlamini has been awarded the African Lifetime Leadership Award at the 2022 Africa Illustrious award.
Dlamini took part in the award show which took place over the weekend in Nigeria, Lagos. The Dr was nominated for his respective leadership roles, including being the country’s former Prime Minister, a business and community leader and a philanthropist.
The morning of the award show he was a guest on Nigeria’s premier television breakfast show, The Morning Show, he delivered a keynote address, where he encouraged Africans to join forces particularly in the areas of business and trade in order to maximize on the natural resources that the continent is endowed with.
He later highlighted the already existing business relations between Eswatini and Nigeria through the latter’s stake in the Kingdom’s sugar industry. He further stressed the need to expand the African markets.
Worth noting is that Dlamini is the Chairman of the RSSC Board. He is the current Managing Director of Tibiyo Taka Ngwane. Dr Absalom Themba Dlamini has served in institutions, such as the Central Bank of Eswatini, Eswatini National Provident Fund and Eswatini Industrial Development Company.
When receiving the award Dlamini relayed his gratitude and said he was thankful for the being considered a recipient for the award.
“I’m so humbled and honoured by the award, it should serve as a sign that anything is possible for an African person,” he said in hindsight.
