FREE BREAKFAST FOR UNESWA STUDENTS

MBABANELend a Hand Foundation has initiated a program of making breakfast for underprivileged students at the University Of Eswatini (UNESWA), Luyengo Campus.

This publication has gathered that this initiative of giving the students was discussed on Wednesday. This initiative will be running for the first time since 2018.

“We will be running the initiative from this month (June) at least twice a week until August, when the semester ends and then resume when it resumes again,” Mihlenhle Mkhwanazi the organization’s Communications Officer said.

The organization consist of both former and current students of the UNESWA Luyengo campus and has been providing food parcels, sanitary pads and went to the extent of providing shelter to some students. Mkhwanazi stated that they normally set goals of what they want to archive and then start acting towards that.

“Our goal is to provide food to at least 250 students, however, the financial problems permit about 100 so far,” Mkhwanazi added.

Lend a hand foundation works with the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs in selecting the rightful student who may benefit from the initiative.

“This initiative is a major milestone in our fight against tertiary student hunger and food insecurity and we will like to thank the huge support we’ve received from our donors, in making this unprecedented Breakfast Club Initiative a massive success,” reads Lend a Hand Foundation’s Facebook post in part.
