MBABANE- Entrepreneurs in Green Technologies are up for a treat.

The United Nations Economic Commission of Africa (UNECA) revealed that in collaboration with the Africa Institute for Economic Development and Planning (IDEP), they were offering a free online training course on Green Technologies for African MSMEs, including emaSwati.

MSMEs are Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.

Green technology refers to any technology intended to reduce the impact of humans on the environment. This can include technologies that reduce resource usage as well as incorporate renewable resources.

This information was verified by SEDCO Eswatini through their social media pages, where they revealed that a certificate would then be issued by IDEO to participant that successfully completed their course-related self-assessments.

Interested nationals were advised to apply and register through the link https://buff.ly/3Dxgydf.

Application deadline is in October 3, 2022.

The training commences October 10, 2022 and last for six weeks.

Established by the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations (UN) in 1958 as one of the UN’s five regional commissions, UNECA’s mandate is to promote the economic and social development of its member States, foster intra-regional integration and promote international cooperation for Africa’s development.

Made up of 54 member states, and playing a dual role as a regional arm of the UN and as a key component of the African institutional landscape, UNECA is well positioned to make unique contributions to address the Continent’s development challenges.

UNECA’s strength derives from its role as the only UN agency mandated to operate at the regional and sub-regional levels to harness resources and bring them to bear on Africa’s priorities.
